The week of April 11th is National Volunteer Week and we here are honored and grateful to work with hundreds of volunteers. The hard work and dedication of these extraordinary individuals and groups is what propels our mission to promote the healing process in a caring, emotionally supportive homelike environment. We could not do it without them!
The Hospitality House was created 27 years ago by a dedicated core of volunteers so it is only right that the house today is run by with the help of over 11,000 hours worth of volunteer hours. Volunteers can be seen daily around HHH at the front desk answering the phones, giving tours to prospective guests, helping with mailings, making food in the kitchen, playing bingo at night as well as various other activities around the house. Just like our guests, these volunteers come from all walks of life. Some come with their church group, others bring their children’s school or girl scout group by, as well as civic groups, school fraternities/sororities, and corporate companies. Volunteers are the lifeline of the House. They give our guests a friendly face and are able to make them feel like they are at home and supported during their time here.
During National Volunteer Week, we celebrate the profound impact that these volunteers have had at HHH over the last 27 years and encourage others to follow suit and discover their own way to make a difference.
