The Doorways is committed to respecting the privacy of our donors, employees, community members, and other stakeholders. Your privacy is important to us. To better protect your privacy, we provide this notice explaining our online information practices. We have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure any information that we collect. To ensure we maintain donor’s privacy, we adhere to the Association of Fundraising Professional’s Donor Bill of Rights.

Personal information gathered by The Doorways is kept in confidence. Our personnel are authorized to access personal information only based on their need to deal with the information for the reason(s) for which it was obtained. Safeguards are in place to ensure that the information is not disclosed or shared more widely than is necessary to achieve the purpose for which it was gathered. We also take measures to ensure the integrity of this information is maintained and to prevent it from being lost or destroyed.

Information Collected and Maintained
  • Contact information: name, organization/company, complete address, phone number, email address
  • Donation information: amounts donated, date of donation(s), method and stimulus
  • Information concerning hours volunteered
  • Requests and comments
  • Non-personally identifiable information, such as how many hits each website page receives, and if the visitor is repeat or new.

This information is gathered through information you voluntarily provide through our website, mailings, contributions, and event registrations. Non-personally identifiable information is also gathered through Google Analytics and pixel-tags to analyze trends and improve user experience.

Use of Collected Information

The Doorways uses your data to maintain records of donations, send acknowledgements, mail year-end tax statements, for IRS purposes, to send newsletters, notices and direct mail pieces, and for internal marketing purposes. We normally add you to our mailing list, unless you request otherwise. When The Doorways uses a third-party mailing service, they are contractually obligated to treat the lists with confidentiality and are prohibited from transferring them elsewhere.

Individuals, Corporations and Foundation sponsors are listed in some of our publications and event programs, as indicated to be listed. Donors are offered the opportunity to make their contribution anonymously in all solicitation materials. We use written comments/letters occasionally to post on our website (in an anonymous fashion), and to respond to your inquiries. Credit card numbers or bank account numbers are NOT retained once the donation is processed.

Payment Processors and other Service Providers

The Doorways uses Blackbaud (PCI Compliant) as the payment processor to collect online donations and registrations. Payment processors allows donors to give electronically using a credit card and other payment methods. These processors collect certain information from the donors and maintain strict privacy and security policies as a part of their agreement with us. No Sharing of Personal Information

The Doorways will not sell, rent, trade or transfer your personal information to outside organizations. Use of donor information will be limited to the internal purposes of The Doorways and only to further the mission of the organization. We do not engage in telemarketing, and will not call your home except for gift acknowledgement purposes or to ask a specific question regarding your volunteer, event attendance or other involvement with our organization. We occasionally may send information from another organization partnering with The Doorways or send mailings through a third-party mail house.

Removing Your Name from Our Mailing List

All email communications provide recipients an option to opt out of receiving emails from The Doorways. Please reach out with any questions or concerns. You may contact us at an time if you wish to be removed from any or all of our mailing lists via email, written request, or by calling. Please allow us 15 days to update our records accordingly.
