May Day Basket Workshop

April Showers Bring…May Baskets!

Join us on Tuesday, April 24th from 6-8pm at Blue Bee Cider for a May Day Basket Workshop benefiting The Doorways! In honor of Garden Week and the long-standing May Day tradition, this hands-on workshop, led by our friends at Sneed’s Nursery, will teach you how to make your very own May Day Basket filled with the beautiful blooms of April!

May Basket Day is an age-old tradition that has been celebrated in towns throughout the United States for centuries. On the first day of May, townspeople gather the blooms of April’s showers and arrange them in basket to hang on their front doors, or the doors of their friends, neighbors, family members (…and even secret crushes)! This workshop will provide you with all the supplies and flower-arranging tips needed to make your very own May Day Basket. Tickets are $55 per person, include the basket + flowers and all other supplies, as well as a cider from Blue Bee’s delicious cider selection! Proceeds from the workshop will benefit The Doorways and our mission of providing lodging and support to families in medical crisis. So come on out to Blue Bee Cider next Tuesday, April 24th and and help us celebrate Garden Week, May Day and the glorious arrival of spring all while supporting a great cause! (PS: Baskets would make great early Mother’s Day gifts!) Get your tickets here: https://thedoorways.ejoinme.org/mayday or contact Regan Gifford at [email protected] or 804-828-6901.
