Advancement Intern

This position will support our Advancement Team as they plan fundraising initiatives and events, build donor relations, enlist volunteers, and implement strategic direction to support the important mission of The Doorways.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Help in the planning, logistics, and solicitation of sponsorships for major events
  • Assist in data entry relating to constituent updates, volunteer hours, and donations received
  • Provide administrative support including record-keeping, scheduling and event coordination, and inventory maintenance
  • Support community outreach efforts by stewarding relationships with local organizations and businesses
  • Conduct research on potential donors, partnerships, and grant opportunities
  • Assist with direct mail communications to develop clear and effective messaging for various audiences
  • Brainstorm creative fundraising ideas in coordination with the Advancement Team
  • Support our guests by organizing and maintaining accessibility of our donations and public spaces

Qualifications:

  • Open to both undergraduate and graduate students
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills; attention to detail
  • Ability to write clear and effective messages, and to communicate confidently with a variety of stakeholders
  • Interest in and enthusiasm for nonprofit organizations and making a positive impact in the community
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Hours and Compensation:

  • Hours are flexible (ideally 15 hours per week) and can accommodate a student’s schedule. Most hours will need to be completed between 9am – 5pm Monday through Friday
  • Preferred start time between May 2024
  • This is an unpaid internship, but we can work with students to ensure school credit hours criteria is met
