Ready to Donate?

  • Read through our wish list below, or check out our Amazon Wish List for your donations to be sent directly to The Doorways.
  • Be sure to review items that we cannot accept.
  • Fill out our In-Kind Donation Form. This will send to our staff automatically.
  • If you would like to donate something you do not see listed here please email us first as we have very limited storage.
*We cannot accept or use food or toiletry items that are open, expired, or not in their original packaging*

Dropping Off

Items can be dropped off 24/7 with our Front Desk or mailed anytime.

If you have a large donation (multiple boxes) please call 804-828-6901 ext 102 or email our Volunteer Manager to confirm your intended drop off time and date.

What to Donate

These items are crucial and each donation helps us direct more money back to our mission.

Please follow condition guidelines as outlined below. Note that we cannot accept or use food or toiletry items that are open, expired, or not in their original packaging.

All items must be unused and in their original packaging.

  • Dish Detergent
  • Hand Soap
  • MERV 8 Air filters (10x20x1 or 10x24x1)
  • Sponges

Individually packaged items are always preferred. All food must be unopened, in its original package and not expired.

  • Canned goods
  • Cooking oil/cooking spray
  • Individually wrapped snacks (granola bars, fruit snacks, chips, etc.)
  • Keurig coffee cups (any brand that fits!)
  • Ready-to-eat meals (canned soups, instant foods, etc.)
  • To-go containers

We cannot accept or use toiletries that are opened, or not in original packaging. TRAVEL-SIZED ONLY, please!

  • Body wash/Bar soap
  • Conditioner
  • Deodorant
  • Shampoo
  • Toothbrushes
  • Toothpaste

We ask that you do not bring in the following items as we cannot use them at The Doorways and want to be respectful of your generosity.
If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to reach out.

  • Catered trays of food or sandwich platters unless food has been packaged into individual servings
  • Expired, unlabeled, or opened food products
  • Open or partially used toiletry products
  • Non-operational, broken, or unclean items
  • Medical supplies (e.g., meds, wheelchairs, crutches, etc.)
  • Stuffed animals
  • Car seats
  • Clothing (Including hats, scarves, gloves, etc.)
  • Bedding
